BetterJPEG

BetterJPEG is a JPEG photo editor that allows you to avoid losses from recompression. BetterJPEG takes advantage of the fact that JPEG images consist of independent blocks and does not re-compress unchanged parts of the image, preserving the original JPEG photo quality.

Basic Functions

• Lossless transformations - rotations, mirror images
• Lossless cropping (any size, preset sizes/ratios)
• Lossless imprinting of date / EXIF / text parameters. Flexible templates allow you to imprint the information contained in the electronic photos: comments, date, time, shutter speed, aperture, ISO, focal length, file name, etc., impose any arbitrary captions. You can select language, font, color, size, transparency, background, position, date format, etc.
• Red-eye removal. Better JPEG does not just discolor or replace the color of the pupil, but uses an algorithm to remove the red component without changing the rest of the channels, preserving the naturalness.

It also performs antialiasing, which avoids the staircase effect at the edges of the treated pupil. The sensitivity and degree of darkening are adjustable. The image outside of the edited area is not squeezed.

• Copy/paste areas to/from the external editor allows advanced editing of individual areas without complete overdubbing.
