The Iridium app allows you to get accurate, real-time satellite location data. You can see where each Iridium satellite is and predict when and where the next flare will be seen.
Iridium satellites have a non-standard size and three polished, door-sized antennas mounted at 120 and 40 degree angles relative to the hull. From these antennas, sunlight is reflected directly to the Earth and creates a fast-moving light spot about 10 km in diameter on the planet's surface, the time and place of whose appearance is fairly easy to predict.
Note that to locate the satellites, the program uses data obtained from heavens-above.com and celestrak.com and then compares it with the user's location.
