FOUR Coma Scale

The FOUR Coma Scale is an application containing the FOUR (Full Outline of Unresponsiveness) objective assessment scale. It is an improvement on previous scales for classifying disorders of consciousness and has several advantages over the Glasgow Coma Scale:

• Allows accurate assessment of consciousness in patients with aphasia and/or tracheal intubation;
• is capable of recognizing locked-in syndrome and identifying different phases of brain occlusion;
• each of the three assessed parameters on the Glasgow Coma Scale has a different maximum number of points (4 to 6). In practice, this causes difficulties. In the FOUR coma scale, all four parameters have a maximum score of 4 - very easy to remember and easy to apply in practice;
• With the Glasgow Coma Scale, it is not always easy to distinguish between localization of pain and pulling away, pulling away and pathological flexion. In the FOUR Coma Scale, the motor response is unambiguous (full command compliance, localization, flexion, extension).

Assessment of the level of consciousness on the scale is done in 4 taps of the screen. The program boasts a small size and has nothing unnecessary. Correct support for devices with different screen sizes (including tablets) is implemented.
