VINChecker Application "VIN Checker" is designed to check on your cell phone the correctness of the vehicle identification VIN number by the check digit, and display information about the manufacturer and year of manufacture of the car.
Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) consists of 17 characters (Latin letters and digits, and there are no letters I, Q, O). The VIN number is located on the upper left side of the instrument panel, visible through the windshield, and on the left front body pillar. In the ninth position of the VIN number is a check digit, which is the result of mathematical conversions with the rest of the VIN number symbols. The use of the check digit is mandatory in the U.S. and Canada, and recommended in other countries. Checking the correctness of the VIN number by the check digit is a fairly effective means of protecting against tampering with the VIN number.
To check the VIN number, enter the characters of the number into the corresponding entry field ("VIN") and press the button, located to the right of the field. If the entered number is correct, the entered VIN number ("VIN"); the result of the check ("Status") - "Check successful" (the number is correct); region and country of manufacturer ("Region"); name of manufacturer ("Manufacture"); year of manufacture ("Year") are displayed. If an incorrect check digit was entered or an error occurred while checking the check digit (due to the VIN number format used by the manufacturer without the check digit or due to an "overwritten" VIN number, the check result ("Status") indicates the cause of the error.
