CommView® Remote Agent

CommView® Remote Agent is a special add-on to CommView designed for remote monitoring of network traffic. It allows CommView users to capture traffic from any computer where Remote Agent is running, regardless of the computer's geographic location. This new, unique technology extends your horizons: You are no longer limited to your LAN segment or your personal computer.

If you are in Tokyo and want to troubleshoot a complicated software problem in Amsterdam, you can install CommView Remote Agent on a remote computer and experience the critical TCP/IP traffic just as if you were sitting right next to the monitor of the machine of interest. After the installation and simple configuration, CommView Remote Agent is ready for communication with CommView. Once the connection is established and the authentication procedure is successfully passed, CommView Remote Agent can intercept packets in its network segment and pass them to CommView. The transmitted packets are compressed to reduce network traffic and encrypted to ensure secure transmission of information over exposed network sections.

CommView has a flexible filter system that allows it to discard unnecessary packets, thus reducing TCP connection traffic between CommView and CommView Remote Agent.
