Dirlot

Dirlot is a utility that shows the relative size of the files and subdirectories in a selected directory (folder) on a bar chart. This allows you to quickly estimate how much space a particular file or subdirectory takes up in that directory and how the space is distributed among the directory elements.

It also allows you to

• change the base directory
• view the metadata of files (creation date, etc.)
• choose a different sorting order (by name and by size)
• to choose the linear, logarithmic, and square root scaling of the chart columns
• view the size in bytes, kilobytes, and megabytes.

The utility uses color coding to represent size information, so that large elements are marked in red, and smaller ones in green. Also localization is supported and you can see the program messages in your native language (if you have a proper localization file). In addition, the utility saves presentation parameters between sessions and can be configured through command line arguments.
