FileFusion is a not-so-common program that helps you get rid of duplicate files and free up disk space.

A new method of combating duplicates

The most important difference between this program and dozens of others in this category is its mechanism of work. The program scans your computer, finds identical files, but instead of deleting one of them, it merges two files into one. In this way, it gets rid of unnecessary files, but leaves access to the old files from the same place where they were stored.

The convenience of this approach is that while it frees up disk space, it has no effect on other programs that might have used those files. In addition, FileFusion backs up the files before doing anything. So if something goes wrong, you can easily roll back the changes and restore the data you want.

Using the program is very easy. A step-by-step wizard guides the user and tells what to do. The algorithm is simple: select a disk/folder and wait for the program to finish scanning. It may take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes, depending on the number of files.
