Finetune

Finetune is a program that will help you organize your own music collection properly with almost no effort at all. The program does everything by itself, but you can manually tweak the tags if necessary.

To start working with the program, you need to point it at the folder where all your music is located. It supports MP3, AAC, ALAC, FLAC, APE, MPC, Vorbis, WavPack and other audio files.

The program takes an audio fingerprint of each song and looks for a match in the AcoustID database, from where it then loads all the metadata and fills in the tags. By and large there is nothing to do after that, but if there is a need, the tags can be corrected manually as well.

Finetune supports all basic tag fields (artist, album, year, song title, genre, etc.) and allows you to add lyrics and album art to your tracks.

Unlike other tag editors, this program has a very compact interface without dozens of buttons, panels, and tabs. On the right side is a panel that displays the total number of audio recordings, the number of recordings that could and could not be fixed. From there you can go to the window with a diagram, which displays statistics on files and to the log, where all actions are recorded.

The left part is occupied by the list of tracks. Clicking on a track will reveal the tag list and album artwork. Here you can see the filled and unfilled metadata, as well as edit it.

Bottom line: if you want to put your music folder in order, but don't want to spend a lot of time on it, leave this task to this program. It does almost all the work by itself without requiring you to make any effort.
