Gene6 FTP Server

Gene6 FTP Server is a multifunctional FTP server for Microsoft Windows NT/2000/XP/2003. This program has a very simple and clear interface, allows you to easily manage accounts, assign access rights to both individual folders and entire disks. There are rich features for tracking activity on the server, managing resources. In addition, it is possible to create virtual directories, limit traffic, the number of connections. Real-time detailed statistics is available. The program allows for secure access to files via the Internet. You can control access through user/group accounts, directories, creating multiple virtual FTP nodes, setting restrictions such as access time per day, access by IP, etc.

G6FTP Server complies with Internet standards of the FTP protocol. Here are some security features:

• SSL encryption (explicit/implicit) can be used for exchanging important files;
• IP/Node based access restrictions;
• access rights management for files/directories;
• remote administration over a secure connection;
• administrative accounts (administrator, super administrator);
• NT authorization (using Windows passwords);
• one-time passwords (OTP, S/Key) (MD5);
• limiting the number of connections (for IP, domain, user);
• account lifetime limitation;
• built-in integrity checking commands (CRC, MD5).

Since it's not always possible to physically access the computer running G6FTP Server, remote administration tools have been developed that allow you to add, edit and delete user accounts as well as change all available domain settings as if the administrator was sitting at the computer running the server. The advantage is a uniform interface for both local and remote connections. It is possible to delegate administration to another administrator by creating a new user account with limited administrator rights. The remote administration connection is encrypted with SSL and runs on its own configurable port.
