GMail Herald is a replacement for the standard notifier about new messages in your GMail mail. After starting GMail Herald is placed in the tray and checks for new incoming messages once in a while. When new mail arrives, the program plays a sound, blinks a shortcut in the tray, and displays a pop-up window. The program is crossplatform.
