GNU Go is a free program that lets you play "go".
GNU Go has no built-in graphical interface, but supports two protocols, Go Modem Protocol and Go Text Protocol (GTP), for "communicating" with other programs. This allows you to choose from a variety of existing software interfaces to the game. GTP is also used by developers as an internal protocol on which to formulate tasks for GNU Go.
