Description

HandBrake is a program with which you can convert any video file or DVD/BD disk to MP4 or MKV format. It is easy to use, so even the inexperienced user can cope with it, but at the same time it can satisfy the requirements of advanced users.

The converter gives you full control over the quality of the final file, thanks to an abundance of all kinds of settings. You can change the video resolution, crop frames, use various filters to improve the picture quality as well as adjust audio and video track settings.

All settings in HandBrake are divided into tabs. In the video track settings tab you can choose one of the supported codecs (H.264, H.265, MPEG-4, MPEG-2, VP8, Theora), choose the frame rate (constant or peak), etc.

As for the audio track settings, here you can, first, select the desired track (if there are several), also select the codec, bitrate, sample rate, DRC, and enter the name of the track.

In addition, with this converter you can add subtitles by importing them from an SRT file.

If you don't know all these settings or have no time to fuss with them, HandBrake has ready-made presets that can be used to quickly convert any video into the required format with the desired quality or specially for mobile devices.

Moreover, if you often convert video with the same settings you can save them by creating your own profile. That way, once you set everything up once, you can quickly convert videos in the future.

This converter is considered one of the best, if not the best among users. It offers a lot of customization, yet remains easy to use, and provides excellent quality.

In the last 2 versions for Windows it takes 3-4 times (!!!) longer to encode! In Linux it's fine.[:+1:]
