Homedale is an easy-to-use handheld software for monitoring and analyzing wireless access points. It finds all the WiFi hotspots that are within range of your device and provides a variety of technical information about them.
With Homedale, you can find out a lot of information about the wireless access points that signal your laptop (or computer with a WiFi adapter) is receiving. In addition to the name of the WiFi hotspot, the program will show its manufacturer, MAC address, type of data encryption, frequency, signal strength, mode and more. All information is displayed in a table. The information can be sorted by columns, and unnecessary columns can be removed.
In addition to general information about the access point, Homedale allows you to monitor the strength of the WiFi signal. The program builds a clear graph that displays the change in signal strength over time, allowing you to evaluate its stability. This allows you to monitor multiple WiFi hotspots at the same time. The software can save the graph as an image or create a log file (a plain text file).
Homedale also builds a graph of frequency usage, which allows you to easily find out which frequencies are used by the detected WiFi hotspots. As in the previous case, the graph can be saved as an image. Another feature worth mentioning is the ability to determine the geographic coordinates of the WiFi hotspot to which your computer is connected. For this purpose, the program uses Google Geolocation, Mozilla Location Service and Open WLAN Map Service.
Homedale is a handy program for analyzing and monitoring available WiFi spots.
