Description

Icon ToolBox is a set of utilities for working with system icons. In this version all detected bugs were fixed; we managed to almost halve the size of the distribution kit. In fact, the package consists of two programs: Icon Explorer and Icon Editor as well as two utilities: Create MFR and Create ANI.

Icon Explorer is designed to automatically extract icons from various file formats and save them to disk. The program automatically scans the specified folders, finds the specified file types and extracts all the icons from them. The speed of scanning files in the program is faster than most known analogues. When scanning icons are placed in a special table where at the end of scanning you can view the icons found, save and edit them in the Icon Editor.

The list of file types from which you can extract icons: OCX, DLL, EXE, ICO, CUR, ANI, ICL. You can save icons in the following formats: ICO, BMP, GIF, CUR. Icon Editor is a program for creating and editing icons, it can work in conjunction with Icon Explorer. The program has all the necessary tools for drawing, a large set of different effects and filters (reflection, rotation, addition), the ability to work with colors (inversion, gradient, color replacement). There is a convenient color palette with the possibility of editing, as well as a function of taking a screenshot. Images can be created and edited in the following formats: 16x16, 32x32, 48x48. Besides, it is possible to export images to BMP, CUR and GIF formats. The program can also act as the standard system editor for ICO files. The Create MFR utility is intended for creating multi-format icons, i.e. several icons with different parameters are packed into one file.

The Create ANI utility is designed to create animated cursors, i.e. cursors consisting of several consecutive frames.
