PanWriter is a markdown editor with a minimalistic interface which supports a large number of text formats through the use of pandoc.
The editor interface is very minimalistic and does not contain any toolbars or other unnecessary buttons. So you can fully concentrate on the text. The flipside of this minimalism is that you need to know and remember all markdown commands because there are no buttons and hints. But if you know your syntax, you can quickly format the text and insert links, lists, code and other elements without taking your hands off the keyboard.
The PanWriter interface can be divided into two panels: one where you type code, and one where you see the result of your actions immediately. You can also leave only one of these panels and work only in it.
When the documents are ready you can save them into TXT or Markdown file, "print" PDF or export them to any other format you like. And the editor supports a lot of them, including HTML, Word, LaTeX, PDF, OPML, EPUB, ODT, PowerPoint, ConTeXt, DokuWiki, MediaWiki, ZimWiki, Jira Wiki, etc.
