Pixelorama is a pixel graphics editor for 8-bit style enthusiasts. It allows you to create art, animations and even elements for video games. This editor is still under development, but it already offers an impressive toolbox.
The first thing you pay attention to is the number of tools. There are brushes, eraser, palette, fill, lightening/darkening tools. You can assign one of the two mouse buttons for quick access to any of them. You can also work with layers. You can shuffle them in any order, add them, remove them when you want.
If you decide to try your hand at animation, Pixelorama is your choice. At least as a starting point. The editor has a timeline with which you can easily animate static pictures. If you have a set of ready-made images, just add them, and the program itself will make frames based on them. Besides, you can also create frames one by one, one after another.
This editor is available for free and is developed with open source. It offers a great opportunity to try your hand at pixel art as a hobby, or it can be used in the development of a full-fledged video game.
