QuteMol takes advantage of the existing capabilities of modern computer graphics using the OpenGL library. A wide range of graphical effects is available in the program. QuteMol's visualization techniques, aimed at improving realism and facilitating the perception of the 3D shape and structure of large molecules or complex proteins.
