RC Assistant is an application for controlling the Beholder remote control and IR sensor with programs that support connection to WinLIRC (KMPlayer, Light Alloy, Media Player Classic, BS.Player, WinAmp, AIMP, ProgDVB, etc.). RC Assistant is detected by programs as WinLIRC server (127.0.0.1:8765). WinLIRC sensor is not required.
It requires Beholder TV tuner with IR sensor, remote control and Beholder software installed (in particular, the "BeholdRC.dll" library). The program also has capabilities of emulating keystrokes (including browser and multimedia) and mouse actions (moving the cursor (with acceleration when pressing), pressing buttons, rotating the scroll wheel), as well as managing applications through WM_APPCOMMAND messages and starting executable files by pressing the remote control button.
It is possible to turn on/off the computer automatically after a preset time interval using the remote control, similar to the TV off timer - usually used in cases when there is a chance of falling asleep while watching a movie or listening to music.
