TextAloud is a tool that converts text documents to audio files. The interface of the application is simple and straightforward. Text is entered in the text field of the main window, and by pressing the "Speak" button you make the application "speak".
The utility allows you to adjust the timbre, speed and volume of the audio, as well as save the read out text into an MP3 or WMA audio file. It also has simple editing tools that allow you to copy, paste and search, add pauses, change your voice, add bookmarks, etc. In TextAloud settings you can set output in several files, interval between sentences and paragraphs, choose audio device, set hotkeys and font options.
The utility consumes a small amount of system resources and comes with a detailed user manual.
