Description

SIF1 video codec is a universal video codec of the new generation. It is embedded in the operating system, allowing you to use it in any video editing and viewing program. The compression uses a new, unparalleled compression algorithm and its own original psychovisual model, adaptive to local areas on the image.

This codec is optimized for efficient compression of high and medium resolution video that allows getting high quality image when compressing FullHD (1920x1072) resolution with bitrates about 2 megabits per second, and when compressing HalfHD (1280x720) video with bitrates about 1 megabit per second.

Recently I read a news story about a new virus spreading under the guise of a new universal video codec. What if this is it. I don't believe in new universal codecs - I will use old ones (ffmpeg).
