One such company is Planet Computers. It decided to please users with an unusual novelty. The device is called Astro Slide. This is a hybrid of a smart phone and a miniature laptop.

When folded, Astro Slide is a regular smartphone with touch screen controls. Slightly thicker than other models. But it can be unfolded. The keyboard slides out and the screen is tilted. The result is a portable PC powered by Android 10.

The keys are big - easy to press. There is a backlight. Ideal for working with documents on the go. Need to edit a spreadsheet or give a long answer to an email? No problem. Astro Slide also allows you to communicate quickly in instant messengers.

There are other advantages. The display diagonal is 6.53 inches, the resolution is 2340 by 1080 pixels. The panel has a built-in fingerprint scanner. Complementing the configuration is a 5 MP front lens.

With the performance everything is fine. The device is equipped with 6 GB of RAM and a MediaTek Dimensity 1000 processor. The latter - according to tests - overtakes the Snapdragon 765G. In addition, the 8-core chip pleases with a 5G-modem and ARM Mali-G77 graphics. You will not have to complain about the brakes.

The Astro Slide has a good sound. The product has stereo speakers. The 4000 mAh battery deserves special attention. It supports two types of charging: wired and wireless.

The device will appeal to fans of mobile photography. Planet Computers didn't skimp on an excellent rear camera. 48 MP is no joke. It is offered to store photos on a flash drive with a capacity of 128 GB. Not enough space? A microSD card will help - there is a slot for this.

GPS, GLONASS, FM radio, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 6, a headphone jack and two USB-C ports complete the list. In the future, the Astro Slide will have Linux compatibility.

There's only one thing to worry about. The money for Astro Slide is just being raised. There's a fundraising effort going on at Indiegogo. If fans don't get up to speed the release is expected in March next year. The game will go on sale for about $700.
