Good news for Android gadget users. Google has finally released a new version of the operating system under the number 8.1. The main innovation, which will bring the installation of the update, will be the introduction of support for the Pixel Visual Core coprocessor for Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL gadgets. This will increase the processing speed of pictures in the branded HDR+ by a factor of five. By the way, shooting in this mode will finally become available in any third-party camera apps. At the same time, the update will bring a new API Neural Networks, designed for applications that use machine learning directly on the user's gadget. Among other innovations we can mention the improvement of the autofill framework, as well as the already familiar bug fixes and security improvements. It is worth adding that along with Android 8.1 was the release of a light version of Android Oreo (Go Edition), designed for budget smartphones with 1 GB of RAM or less. It differs from the standard version with a built-in traffic-saving function and the ability to track data consumption in the background. In addition, it is reported to increase the speed of applications by 15% while reducing the amount of space occupied by the system and pre-installed applications by 50%. The update will be distributed next week. The first owners of Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P will receive the update, and everyone else will have to wait a little longer.
