15 February 2017
Surely, many people are looking forward to the release of the new iPhone 8. So far not much is known about it, but from time to time, new details about the gadget appear on the Internet. Thus, according to the recently published information, the smartphone may have the fingerprint scanner, built into the display. The fact is that Apple specialists have developed an infrared emitter technology, which, without going into technical details, allows you to embed the fingerprint scanner right into the display of the smartphone or tablet. The corresponding patent application was published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office yesterday: February 14. Thus, rumors that the iPhone 8 display will occupy the entire front panel of the device may well be true. Recall that Apple has previously patented technology that allows you to integrate the scanner into the smartphone display. The last company's patent described capacitive sensing technology, which implies the location of the scanner under the display, which allowed to get rid of the Home button. It is not yet possible to say with certainty whether the new technology will be used in the creation of the iPhone 8, and whether it will meet the expectations of potential buyers. More information about the gadget will be available only closer to the date of its official release.
