As many may remember, in July 2017 Yandex.Taxi and Uber signed an agreement to merge their cab ordering businesses in Russia and some neighboring countries. It seems that the merger of the companies is finally complete.For ordinary users this will not change much. The Yandex.Taxi and Uber apps will not go anywhere, you will be able to use whichever one you prefer. At the same time, taxi companies and drivers will be transferred to a single technological platform. It is interesting that the unification has affected not only the service of online cab ordering, but also the divisions of food delivery companies. Yandex.Food LLC, a subsidiary of Yandex.Taxi, will operate in this area. It will include Foodfox, recently acquired by Yandex, as well as UberEATS. Recall that according to the agreement reached last year, the merged company will operate in Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia and Kazakhstan.
