Sound synthesis program in WAV file format (bmp2wav.exe)
The program bmp2wav is designed to synthesize sounds and save them to WAV files.
The input data for the synthesizer are:
Harmonics, modulated by envelope, formed from sinusoidal signals of specified frequency with an initial phase shift. The file containing the graphic image of the signal envelope is an image in Windows Bitmap (.bmp) format with fixed dimensions (441X100 pixels). It should be located in the same directory from which the program is started. The image is processed from the bottom, the first non-white pixel will be considered to be the amplitude of the envelope signal in a node. Between nodes, the signal amplitude is set to a constant value equal to the amplitude in the node. To edit the graphic file, you can use the standard Windows program Paint. It is possible to correct and save the image directly in the shell of the program bmp2wav.
The program does not require installation. Immediately after launching, the current folder for work will be the one from which the program was launched. After the first run, two files are created: default.bmp and default.set, used later for saving the image and settings loaded by default. The synthesized sound file has the same name as the image file and is located in the same folder.
To open, save and save under a different image file name, there are corresponding buttons and menu items with "hotkeys".
