Boa is a remote call interface - an application programming interface (API) that provides interaction between applications running on remote PCs. The interface is implemented as a library of C++ classes and functions based on TCP protocol and sockets. It can run under Windows NT/2000/XP/7, FreeBSD and Linux.
The interaction is based on the client/server scheme in which the client application calls the functions executed in the server application and receives data back from it. The main application area of the software is creation of distributed systems with multi-tier architecture. The interface supports DBMS PostgreSQL and Borland Database Engine (BDE) library for working with databases.
The software includes documentation (programmer's guide, reference manual), ready libraries for C++Builder 6.0, source code of all programs and example client/server applications for FreeBSD, Ubuntu and Windows (C++Builder and Qt).
