Desktop.ini Editor is a portable editor that allows you to edit desktop.ini files.

These files are automatically generated for each folder created in Windows, and are usually hidden from user's eyes. This file contains many parameters that are responsible for various aspects of the folder.

The Desktop.ini Editor interface is concise and easy to use. You can add a folder by dragging it to the main window or with the corresponding "Select folder" button. All parameters that can be changed are gathered under the button "Attribute Examples". After making the necessary changes you will need to click "Apply Changes" to apply the new options.

As for the available options, there are several dozens of them, but the most popular ones, as a rule, are:

• ConfirmFileOp - enables/disables the confirmation notification when a folder is deleted;
• IconFile - allows you to replace the default folder icon with any other icon;
• IconIndex - used to indicate the index of a custom icon. It is useful if IconFile contains several icons;
• InfoTip - this parameter is responsible for the text in the tooltip that appears when you hover your cursor over a folder.
