EditPad Lite is a classic text editor designed specifically for laptops and Windows computers. Free program features a simple interface and a fairly wide range of functions. The editor works on many versions of the system - XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, including older versions - 98, 2000. The program interface is available in English only.

EditPad Lite is designed as a compact alternative to the full-fledged word processing programs. The purpose of the program is to edit text instantly and as comfortably as possible without putting a strain on your system. The advantages of the editor include:

• Complete freedom of editing. Many editing tools are available to the user: changing style, color and font size, adjusting indents and footers, changing starting caps and case, as well as copying and pasting whole text files into a document. EditPad Lite offers unlimited undo and redo functions - you can undo changes even after saving the file if you haven't closed the editor.
• Working with dozens of documents in one window at a time. EditPad Lite does not limit the number of open documents - you can edit tens or even hundreds of different texts simultaneously. The editor does not open new windows but creates a separate tab for each file, which simplifies the process of switching from one file to another. Just click on another tab and you have a new text in front of you without delays or pauses.
• Edit popular text formats and code pages. EditPad Lite changes DOS, KOI8, EBCDIC pages and also edits ASCII, ANSI and Unicode files.
• Minimalistic interface with advanced settings. The user can change the appearance color, as well as font size and style. For comfortable work with large texts, you can change text cursor and mouse pointer - increase size, set contrast color and add blink function.
• Supports the two-byte character system. The editor allows you to change texts in Eastern languages, including Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
• Availability of additional features. EditPad Lite supports "over all windows", integration of the icon in the system tray, as well as setting automatic indentation and line numbering in the text.
