HDD Password Protection

HDD Password Protection is a program that provides comprehensive hard disk protection with passwords.

The software is intended for

• Protect your computer booting from the hard disk;
• Protect (hide) the partitions on the hard disk;
• block access to the hard drive in its entirety.

BOOT PROTECTION

Effective protection of computer booting from hard disk. It is designed for those who want to protect their computer from external access. This mode does not protect any data on your computer, but will prevent your computer from booting from a protected hard drive. The system will ask you for the password ("Enter password:") when booting from the protected disk drive. After 5 unsuccessful attempts the system locks and needs to be rebooted.

PARTITION PROTECTION

This protection mode allows you to hide any of the partitions on your hard drive. Operating systems will not find a partition with this protection and hard disk partition management software will pretend the partition does not exist at all and show free space in its place.

PHYSICAL PROTECTION

The strongest type of hard disk protection. This protection blocks all read/write attempts from the whole protected disk. Such disk will be present in the system, but it will look like it just came from the factory and will not let you do anything with it, but will give only 5 attempts to unprotect it. The possibility of this protection is built into hard drives by the manufacturers themselves according to the ATA-3 specification.
