LockHunter is a program that allows you to remove files that are locked (i.e. used) by active processes or programs. LockHunter allows you to see which processes are using a file, or which files the selected process is using, and to unlock those files. For any selected process the program provides detailed information.
To unlock files, you can terminate the process and delete the file, or completely remove the process itself. LockHunter puts deleted files in the trash so that you can recover them if necessary. In addition, LockHunter allows you to copy or rename unlocked files. For added convenience, the program is embedded in the context menu of Windows Explorer.
