McAfee Stinger is a program that finds and removes infected files from your computer. It scans your hard drives at your command and finds viruses, Trojans, worms, and other types of malware.

This program requires no installation, which means you can stick it on a flash drive or other media and use it on other computers. It is characterized by low resource consumption and does not load your computer heavily. You can use it to scan all the files on your computer, or only specific folders that might have infected files.

While scanning, McAfee Stinger shows various technical information: the file being scanned, the total number of files scanned, the scanning time, and the number of infected and cleaned files. All suspicious files are quarantined to keep the system safe and give you time to decide whether to keep the files or remove them from your computer.
