MegaIRC is a small but powerful and developing client for Internet Relay Chat (IRC) networks.
In IRC networks, you can chat on hundreds of different topics with people from all over the world, and at any time. MegaIRC has full functionality for IRC networks, lists of servers, channels, working through Socks5 proxies, changing encodings, SSL. Displays a full customizable ANSI color gamut. Supports send and receive files with resumption of download after a connection break. It has a multilingual user interface and the ability to work with the server via the command line.
The client supports assignment of sounds in mp3, ogg, wav formats to different IRC-events. It can work in debug mode, display all IRC server messages in raw mode, i.e. as they are supported by IRC protocol. It works both in classic multi-window mode and in single-window mode, when all private and service messages are displayed in one text window.
MegaIRC has the ability to connect plugin bots in the form of DLLs. Bots can do anything: entertain users with jokes and quizzes, monitor obscene expressions in channels, collect statistics about users, etc. - It all depends on the imagination of the programmers-developers of these plugins.
