Metronomos

Metronomos is a parental control program. It allows you to limit and control the time your child spends at the computer. The first time the program must be run with administrator privileges in order to configure the usage rules. Once set up, it works in the background, monitoring user activity and notifying them when session time expires.

Metronomos uses a coupon system to monitor time. The program can be accessed through the web interface (local host, 1234 port). The advantage of such a system is that the administrator can manage the rules on other computers in the local network. However, this requires that the program is always running on these computers. As for the control itself, the administrator can increase/decrease the available time, remove the limitation altogether, see the current status of all monitored users. Simple users can see how much time they have left and how much was used. Statistics is available for all days of the week.
