The player begins the game in the early 20th century with steam locomotives and airplanes like the Cornhusker or Junkers, continues to play with diesels and Boeings, and ends the game in the late 21st century with maglevs, monorails, and Concords. The names of the original vehicles are made fictional, while Transport Tycoon Deluxe uses real names.
