PatchCleaner is a program that frees up disk space on your operating system by removing unnecessary installers and program update files that can take up gigabytes of disk space over time. Usually these files are needed to install, update or delete programs, but over time they accumulate, and obsolete, no longer needed files appear and just take up space. This program is designed to remove such files.
PatchCleaner searches for obsolete installer/update files and allows you to either move them to another medium or delete them completely. The developers recommend transferring these files so that in case of problems they can be recovered.
PatchCleaner works in the following way. Windows stores a list of all actual (needed) installers and patches. The program gets this list, compares its content with the contents of the c:\Windows\Installer folder and deletes all the files that are present in the folder but are not on the list.
Please note that for PatchCleaner to work properly, you need to download and install Microsoft .NET Framework
