Privoxy

Privoxy is a proxy server with a wide range of features for content filtering.

Features:

• Filter web page content (remove banners based on size, invisible "web bugs", annoying JavaScript and HTML elements, pop-ups, etc.).
• Modular configuration allows you to save default settings and user preferences into separate folders so update files don't overwrite user preferences.
• HTTP/1.1 compatibility (but not all 1.1 options are supported).
• Support for Perl Compatible Regular Expressions in configuration files, and an overall improved and more flexible configuration syntax than previous versions.
• Improved cookie management (e.g., session-based cookies).
• GIF de-animation.
• Traversal of many tracking scripts (avoids redirecting scripts).
• Multithreading (POSIX and native threads).
• User-configurable HTML templates for all proxy-generated pages (e.g. "blocked" page).
• Automatic detection and re-reading of changes in config files.
• Improved signal processing and real daemon mode (Unix).
