QuArK is a content creation program for various games that use the Quake Engine from id Software. It can directly edit, import/export game levels; edit and convert models, sounds, textures and many other types of game content; and create it all from scratch. It can also move or modify dynamic game objects without recompiling the entire map, which makes creating maps much faster.
QuArK uses external compilers (such as Q3Map2) to produce levels. Compilers can be fully customized, QuArK will remember these settings for later use. It is possible to add plugins, written in Python, to extend the features of the editor.
