RouterOS is a kind of operating system for Latvian MikroTik RouterBoard routers. It is based on Linux OS. In addition to routers, it can also be installed on an ordinary computer. In this case it turns into the same router with the functions of a firewall, VPN server/client, QoS, access point, etc.
This OS supports various protocols and services, including OSPF, BGP and VPLS/MPLS, as well as any Linux-based network interfaces.
