S.M.A.R.T. Assistant is designed to monitor the S.M.A.R.T. status and tray temperature of hard drives (IDE or SATA, connected in IDE compatibility mode) with the ability to send reports and warnings by e-mail, as well as manage the AAM (Automatic Acoustic Management) and APM (Advanced Power Management) settings of the hard drive. When S.M.A.R.T. Assistant appears as an icon in the system tray. By clicking on it you can get a variety of information about the hard drives installed in your computer. The program periodically monitors the S.M.A.R.T. and hard disk drive temperatures to automatically notify you of problems. The program can warn you when the S.M.A.R.T. condition of the hard disk drive is out of balance with an audible warning tone.
Program Restrictions: You need Administrator privileges to run S.M.A.R.T. Assistant requires administrator rights. It supports monitoring of not more than 6 hard disks (IDE or SATA connected in IDE compatibility mode (not in AHCI mode), it does not work with SCSI disks and RAID arrays).
