The tasks of detecting network problems and monitoring network activity confront any network administrator and many users on an almost daily basis. It can take weeks or months to record, index and parse traffic, identify error sources, analyze network vulnerabilities and analyze network activity. SSECline provides a convenient and easy-to-use tool to analyze network communications and control user network activity on the Internet - the Stethoscope program.
It is based on the principle of traffic control with subsequent recording to disk and data analysis. Analyzers perform dynamic identification of protocols, decrypt content, obtain meta-information about sessions and transfer the collected data to an indexer. The indexer writes information about sessions to the database, which becomes available to the user in a special management and monitoring console.
Who will benefit from the program to control and analyze network activity Stethoscope:
Stethoscope Free is a free software analyzer (x86/AMD64) for monitoring network traffic of computers on local networks and the Internet. All traffic is saved and indexed, which allows both retrospective and real-time analysis of the accumulated data on disk and in the database. Geolocation and detection of a large number of application layer protocols are supported. A flexible system of traffic statistics filtering is implemented, allowing to obtain slices by different attributes of accumulated data and to investigate network anomalies.
