Toribash is a turn-based fighting game based on Ragdoll physics. The game is controlled by changing the position (relaxing, tensing, bending, unbending, rotating, and tilting) of the joints of the puppet displayed on the screen. You can also make your palms "sticky" and grasp your opponent. By pressing the space bar, the player makes a move and advances the time by a certain number of frames (10 by default).
When properly manipulated, one puppet hits another puppet, and if enough damage is done, a body part can break off or be broken. By manipulating the puppet correctly, it is possible to perform quite complicated attacks. The goal of the game is to earn as many points as possible during combat by hitting your opponent. In most game mods (sumo, aikido, sambo, etc.) the goal of the game is to disqualify the opponent. This occurs when a joint or part of the body (except the palms, wrists and feet) touches the floor, or when any part of the body touches the floor outside the playing area.
There are many styles of play based on the number of frames per turn, the length of the fight, the distance between opponents, and the ease of tearing off or breaking body parts. There are also many different mods, both official and player-created. These mods can change the doll's appearance, affect its movement, and add new objects to the environment.
