VirtualDubMod is a program based on the source code of VirtualDub, and has many additional features. VirtualDubMod has a significant difference - the Audio menu has been replaced by Streams, which reflects the focus on working with multiple audio streams and subtitle channels. VirtualDubMod fully supports MKV and OGM containers.
Unlike VirtualDub, VirtualDubMod can open not only AVI and MPEG-1 files, but also VOB, MPEG-2, OGM, Matroska (MKV). Also it supports a lot of sound formats: AC3, WAV, MP3, Ogg Vorbis, DTS, SRT files (ASCII/Unicode). One of the most important differences from VirtualDub is the ability to work with multiple audio streams, i.e. several audio tracks in different formats can be added to an AVI file. Opening similar files from DVD - VOB is also supported.
