YafaRay is an open source ray tracing program that uses XML to describe the scene.
YafaRay uses global illumination based on Monte Carlo approximations to create realistically-lit renderings of 3D scenes.
Yafaray has a modular structure based on the core and other related rendering elements: scene loader, light sources and shaders. Together with the API, this allows you to develop rendering plugins to use Yafaray from any program or 3D application. The list of supported programs includes Blender, Wings 3D and Aztec.
