The Android version of the Box has a fingerprint unlock feature

14 February 2017
Good news for users of cloud storage Box. It seems that now it will be even more difficult for third parties to get access to the data stored on the cloud, thanks to the introduction of fingerprint scanner support in the official application of the service for Android. It is known that to activate the function of unlocking access to the storage with fingerprints, you must also activate PIN-code protection. In order to do this, you need to enable the option "Access code required" in the security settings of the application. However, the new way to protect against third-party access is only available to owners of relatively new mobile devices that not only have the necessary fingerprint scanner, but also run Android Marshmallow or newer. As for the iOS version of the app, it received the ability to unlock with Touch ID back in version 3.5.0, in November 2014. Thus, all users of the main mobile operating systems can now secure their personal data and important documents from unauthorized access, provided they have the necessary scanner.
