04 September 2018
Not so long ago, it became known about the discovery of a problem in many iPhone 8. We are talking about a defect in the motherboard of smartphones, because of which the gadgets hangs, spontaneously restarts or does not turn on at all. Finally, Apple has acknowledged the problem and announced the launch of a free iPhone 8 repair program. The manufacturer says that the defect was found only in a "small" percentage of iPhone 8 devices that were sold from September 2017 to March 2018 in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Macau, New Zealand and the United States. Nevertheless, everyone can check whether a smartphone purchased elsewhere was included in the "defective" batch by entering the serial number of the gadget on the Apple support site. It is worth noting that only the iPhone 8 is included in the free repair program. Any other Apple smartphones, including the iPhone 8 Plus, are not eligible for the recall. In addition, the program launched does not cover any other damage or breakage of the smartphones and does not extend the standard warranty.
