As many of you probably remember, back in February Yandex and Uber announced the closing of a deal to merge their online cab ordering businesses in Russia and a number of other countries. Finally, in the near future a single platform for the relevant services will be launched.Tigran Khudaverdyan, the head of the merged company, shared the relevant information. According to him, after the launch of the single platform, passengers from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Moldova, Uzbekistan and Estonia will wait less for a car. This was shown by preliminary tests launched in Voronezh and Ufa. In these cities, the average car delivery time has decreased from 4-5 minutes to 3-3.5 minutes. A single platform of Yandex.Taxi and Uber will be launched in early June. However, the applications of both services will continue to work separately. Users will continue to be able to use the usual software to order a cab, while the common technological platform will distribute orders and determine the cost of rides.
