Microsoft revealed all the features of the Xbox Series X

Next-generation consoles are no longer a mystery. Recently, information about the Sony PlayStation 5 appeared on the web. Now it's time for a competitor from Microsoft. The latter, interestingly enough, talked about the console itself.

The name was known before - Xbox Series X. But the specifications remained a secret. Users were offered only rumors. Microsoft has decided to put an end to the leaks. The company has unveiled the official specs.

What do gamers get? Xbox Series X is based on an 8-core processor with Zen 2 architecture. The chip is made by AMD on special order. The CPU runs at clock speeds up to 3.8 GHz.

How are things going with graphics? It is worth hoping for AMD RDNA 2 video with a performance of 12 teraflops. The gas pedal puts out 1.825 GHz and has 52 processing units.

Said allows the output of 4K format images. The number of frames per second varies from 60 to 120 (depending on the mode). The picture will be smooth.

Xbox Series X will please other features. Among them:

  • 16GB of GDDR6 memory
  • 4K UHD Blu-ray optical drive
  • 1TB NVME SSD
  • 1TB storage expansion cards

That's not all the details about the device. It's also claimed to be backward compatible with previous Xboxes. We're talking about the original model, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

All hits from the mentioned consoles will run on the Xbox Series X. Microsoft promises increased resolution, faster loading levels and stable fps. There's no problem with Xbox Game Pass, either.

Former Xbox One owners won't have to buy new accessories. They are supported by Xbox Series X by default. In addition, there's talk of a full-fledged hardware racer.

When will the tech wonder go on sale? The release was supposed to take place in the fall or winter of this year. But it is likely that the timing will be seriously delayed. The culprit is the coronavirus pandemic.
