Few people are unfamiliar with Half-Life. A lot of people have played it, at least the second part. At one time, the series became a cult, but was abruptly discontinued.
The original Half-Life debuted in 1998. Six years later Half-Life 2 appeared. Then we saw several additions (including those, that continue the story.)
Unfortunately, the story ended there. Valve, the company that created Half-Life, "froze" its development. Suddenly. The final chapters of Gordon Freeman's adventures are not out.
Fans had waited years for the announcement of Half-Life 3. They hoped that Valve would come to their senses soon. The latter, however, forgot about the fans. The corporation focused on the development of the Steam game store.
However, things are changing. The other day it was revealed that Valve is getting back on track. It officially announced the presentation of Half-Life: Alyx. The project will be shown at a special event on November 21.
It is worth to understand that Half-Life: Alyx is not Half-Life 3. The new product is designed for virtual reality devices. For example, Windows Mixed Reality helmets, Valve Index, HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.
Alas, we can only dream about Freeman. The hero of Half-Life: Alyx will be Alyx Vance (one of the central characters of Half-Life 2). Valve will probably tell her story before she meets Gordon.
Thetentative release date is March 2020. Time to save up for a VR headset?
