OCSiAl company, based in Novosibirsk Akademgorodok and a part of Rusnano, has started production of UJet electric scooters. The start of sales is scheduled for the end of this year.Anatoly Chubais, the head of Rosnano, shared the relevant information on his Facebook page. According to him, the Russian smartphone, which weighs only 40 kilograms, has a unique battery with an energy density higher than that of Tesla. It will be located, we can say, "under the side" of the owner, and more precisely - under the seat of the gadget. The production of improved and more efficient batteries, created using nanotubes, is expected to start soon. It is expected that without recharging the scooter will be able to overcome the distance to 70 km, and on increased battery - up to 150 km. UJet will receive an engine capacity of 4 kW and weighs only 1860 grams. Its starting torque will exceed 110 Nm, and it will be located in the wheel rim. By the way, the tires of the vehicle use single-walled nanotubes. Interestingly, the UJet is completely silent when in motion, and for ease of transportation, the device, weighing only 40 kg, can be folded to the size of a suitcase on wheels. It is expected that in the future it will be possible to reduce the weight of the smartjet even more. However, this is not the only thing that makes the device special. The fact that UJet will get a quad-core processor, as well as support for GSM, 4G, GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. All of them can be controlled either by keys, without removing your hands from the steering wheel, or by voice. Instead of a key, the developers propose to use a regular smartphone, which can also be used to diagnose the scooter. It is expected that OCSiAl will produce about 32,000 electric scooters a year. At the same time, the first models should go on sale by the end of the year. Soon, potential customers will be able to pick up their own design and configuration of electric scooter, using a special application for the iPhone. However, the cost UJet will be higher than some of the new cars, though not the highest configurations and will be 590 thousand rubles, which is unlikely to contribute to a wide distribution of the unit. Time will tell if the demand for such gadgets in our country will be high.
