29 August 2017
What many have been waiting for has come to pass. The company Fitbit, previously specializing in the production of fitness trackers and bracelets, introduced its first smart watch. The gadget was named Ionic. It is known that Fitbit Ionic will get 1.42-inch touch screen display with a resolution of 348 x 250 pixels, 2.5 GB of internal memory, an optical heart rate monitor and support for Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, NFC and Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n). Most pleasing is the fact that the gadget has water protection and can be used in depths of up to 50 meters. As for the operating system on which the watch will run, contrary to user expectations, it will not be Android Wear and not Tizen, but its own Ionic OS. Despite this, the gadget from Fitbit will be able to easily sync with all the iPhone 4S and newer, as well as devices running Android 4.4 or higher. It is reported that Fitbit Ionic sales will start in October this year. The approximate cost of the smartwatch will be $300. Of course, various interchangeable straps will also go on sale for $30 to $60, depending on the material. It is also expected that in the future we will see a special version of the Ionic, created with the participation of Adidas.
